VICE-President Maria Leonor “Leni” Gerona Robredo has expressed her call for unity and urged her followers not to fight their enemy in campaigning for her in the presidential race in May 9, 2022.

The call for friendly campaigning was prompted since Robredo was told that her followers in Bohol are fighting other voters who are not yet for her.

(I’m happy that you fight for me. But to convince others we will not fight them).

This she told jampacked crowd during the so-called People’s rally held at the old city airport first day of April 2022.

(This is the true unity (apparently referring to the crowd) not with politicians but with the Filipinos. Unity of love. Unity of dreams. And Unity of hope).

Robredo launched her grand rally in Bohol with the first stop in Jagna town where she was welcomed by some estimate of 3,000 supporter/volunteers at past 2 in the afternoon on April first (2022).

After the Jagna sortie, she proceeded to Talibon town where she also delivered her message of unity before going to Tagbilran city’s grand rally in the evening.

Jagna Mayor Joseph Ranola, along with other officials, welcomed her at the municipal hall after her arrival via chopper.

With her were her running mate, senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, senatorial bet Atty. Neri Colmenares and reelectionist Richard “dick” Gordon.

Pangilinan spoke first before Robredo’s turn. But Colmenares and Gordon were not there to speak inside the gym. Media were able to interview Colmenares at Ranola’s ancestral house prior to the rally in Jagna.

Robredo thanked the organizers and  other personalities and the following: Ms. Haidee Ingking, RPC Bohol Core Group, Ms. Joan Llanos, Ae Damalerio, RPC Bohol, Bohol Leni Ko; Youth For Leni, Doctors For Leni, Lawyers For Leni, Students and Alumni Group For Leni, Engineers For Leni, Architects for Leni, Computer Engineers For Leni, MedTechs For Leni, Educators For Leni, AKBAYAN, AKBAYAN Youth, Doljo Panglao Fisherfolk– (partner in Angat Buhay project), Dolto Panglao Women’s Organization, Bingag Dauis Fish Wardens Organization, LGBTQIA+.

She also extended her gratitude to Mayor Baba Yap and Congressman Ed Chato of First District of Bohol and other local officials. (rvo)
