To them, Congratulations! (Reprint)

HONESTY is the best policy! The saying goes.

Short Cuts has known of this even during his early grade school days. This has been repeated time and again by his classroom teachers even during his secondary and tertiary studies.

Not only were classroom teachers repeatedly discussing this very important line to students; the same were reportedly made by teachers as guidepost to their respective elected classroom officials.

True enough, Honesty is the best policy!

But, if only to counter the lessons to be learned by everyone on the foregoing line, this can be asked –  HOW HONEST ARE YOU?

And worse, HOW MUCH IS YOUR HONESTY?

These couple of queries are as important as life itself. Whether as a politician or not, whether as a professional or the most unlettered man on the street, or whether as a rich man or the poorest in society – these can truly be encountered in one’s journey in lile.

These queries are indeed very necessary these days considering that many politicos are now preparing their grounds for the 2025 mid- term elections. Short Cuts has been hearing of local politicians courting one another for elective posts.

Mr. A to run for Governor against incumbent Governor Aris Aumentado, and Mr. B to run for Vice-Governor against the incumbent?

Mr. C to run for City Mayor against incumbent City Mayor Jane Yap, and Mr. D to run for Vice-Mayor against the incumbent?

To Short Cuts’ mind, almost all the local government units in the province are already prepared for the local elections down to the level of the local lawmakers.

So far, Short Cuts is not yet aware of interested personalities for the congressional fights in the three districts of the province.  The incumbents are still seemingly enjoying the trust and confidence of their respective voting populace.

Are the three incumbent congrressmen presumed to be logically invincible?

Or, they have honestly hurdled the query, How much is your honesty?

To them, Congratulations!
