The provincial prosecutor also ordered that copy of this order be furnished to the police officer “having custody of the respondent/detainee for him to comply with the directive of said Order.”
But the provincial prosecutor stressed that the case of murder against the respondent is not dismissed. “In fact, the evidence on hand against the respondent warrants the conduct of a regular preliminary investigation.”
It said that for the purpose of determining what kind of investigation that will be conducted by this office on the complaint is being treated as filed for regular preliminary investigation.
The said office defines inquest investigation “is an informal and summary investigation conducted by a public prosecutor in criminal cases involving persons arrested and detained without the benefit of a warrant of arrest issued by the court for the purpose of determining whether or not said persons should remain under custody and correspondingly be charged in court.”
Tubigon police officers said in its press statement that body of Gaoiran has been found in barangay Cansuaguit, Loon, Bohol, about several kilometers away from Pinayagan Sur.
It said that “Osie” was missing and last seen on April 3, 2024. The police said that they condemned the brutal slay of “Osie.”

Bishop Abet Uy of the Tagbilaran diocese issued the following: “I am deeply saddened by the news regarding Roselyn “Osie” Gaoiran from Tubigon, Bohol, who was reported missing and tragically found dead today inside a sack. The loss of a life in such a brutal manner is truly heartbreaking, and my thoughts are with Osie’s family and loved ones during this very difficult time. We urge the authorities to promptly initiate a thorough investigation to ensure that the perpetrator(s) are brought to justice. Acts of violence and crimes like this are morally reprehensible, and it is crucial that those responsible are held accountable for their deeds.” (rvo)
