DepEd SDO Bohol Conducts MATATAG
Curriculum Training of Trainers (TOT)
for Teachers and School Administrators
(Mental Health Management Protocol)

GOOD Manners and Right Conduct (GMRC) and Values Education (VE) are core subjects in the K to 12 Basic Education Program as mandated by Republic Act No. 11476, also known as the GMRC and Values Education Act. (RA 11478, June 25, 2020).  GMRC will be taught independently in Grades 1 through 6 for the same amount of time as the other core courses. It will also be included in the regular educational activities that kindergarteners engage in. The Department of Education (DepEd) will introduce GMRC through clear, distinct, specific, and concrete character-building activities, such as role-playing in the classroom, community immersion, teacher-parent collaborative learning, school-initiated values formation, simulated activities, and other forms of experiential learning. GMRC will teach in its students the principles of self-respect, human dignity, and giving of oneself to others in the spirit of community in order to efficiently and thoroughly develop a child’s ability for decision-making. The core ideas will also be emphasized throughout the curriculum.
