DOH-7 awards 4 Bohol hospitals as UHC champions

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, Nov. 23 (PIA) — The Department of Health (DOH) Central Visayas recognized four provincial government hospitals, two DOH-run hospitals, and two private hospitals in Bohol during the inaugural Hospital Summit and Awarding Ceremony.

The event recognized the efforts of Central Visayas hospitals and healthcare facilities in their significant contribution towards achieving the goals and targets of the Universal Health Care.

Various hospitals and health facilities in the region were acknowledged for their outstanding performance in the following areas: Medical Certification of Cause of Death Assessment (MCCOD), Client Experience Survey (CES), Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Week Celebration, and Program, Green Viability Assessment (GVA), Patient Safety Program (PSP), National Voluntary Blood Services Program (NVBSP), Health Care Waste Management (HCW), Non communicable Diseases Section (NCDS), and Integrated Hospital Operations Management (IHOMP).

DOH-7 awarded Garcia Memorial Provincial Hospital (GMPH) of Talibon town, Teodoro B. Galagar District Hospital (TBGDH) of Jagna, Natalio P. Castillo Memorial Hospital (NCMH) of Loon, and Francisco Dagohoy Municipal Hospital (FDMH) of Inabanga.

TBGDH received three awards: bronze awardee in Healthcare Waste Management Program; Silver awardee for Infection Prevention and Control Week Celebration TikTok Challenge; and a gold awardee for their Infection Prevention and Control Program.

GMPH followed with two awards, one for their Infection Prevention and Control Program and another for the Integrated Hospital Operations Management Program.

NCMH and FDMH each received one award, with NCMH recognized as one of the best implementers of the Medical Certification on Cause of Death Program and FDMH for the Healthcare Waste Management Program- Infirmary category.

DOH-run hospitals, Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Medical Center (GCGMMC) and Don Emilio Del Valle Memorial Hospital (DEDVMH) of Ubay, also received awards.

DEDVMH received five awards which includes the following: 3 Green Stars for Green Viability Assessment; silver awardee for Integrated Hospital Operations Management Program; bronze awardee for IPC Photo Journalism; and recognized as one of the best implementers for Medical Certification Cause of Death; and Client Experience Survey Responsive Report.

GCGMMC received silver award for Infection Prevention and Control Program, silver awardee for Integrated Hospital Operations Program, and recognized as one of the best implementers of Medical Certification on Cause of Death.

Other Hospital Summit Awardees are the two private hospitals in Bohol – the Holy Name University Medical Center Inc. and CDG Bohol Doctors’ Hospital.

Holy Name University Medical Center Inc. received gold award for HCW Level II; silver award for IPC Level II; MCOOD distinguished awardee; and CES distinguished awardee.

The CDG Bohol Doctors’ Hospital received both bronze award for HCW Infirmary Level and IPC Infirmary Level.
