VG BALITE & BM CEPEDOZA

PROVINCIAL Board Member Dr. Romulo G. Cepedoza, president of the Liga ng mga Barangay in Bohol and ex-officio provincial Board Member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan took the cudgels in sponsoring the Supplemental budget No. 3, for this year intended for various development projects and programs.

This came during last week’s regular session as Cepedoza is concurrent vice-chairman of the appropriations committee chaired by Vice-Gov. Dionisio Victor A. Balite.

The total amount of the said budget approved by the SP is P213,364,782.00 in aforesaid projects as indorsed by Gov. Aris Aumentado. The said budget is based on Supplemental Investment Program No. 3 approved by the provincial board thru Resolution No.2023-627.

The following fund sources in the said Supplemental Budget No. 3: Salary Savings from vacant positions; “unappropriated surplus/savings; 2023 General Fund – Support for Socio-economic development; 2022 General Fund-Savings, Unexpended balances of 2022 for Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE); Reverted MOOE for 20% Development Fund for 2022; 2023, 2022, 2021 various 20% Development fund projects office of the Provincial Agriculturist; and prior year’s programs/projects/financial expenses under the 20% Development fund and regular Capital Outlay.

Cepedoza divulged that the said fund is intended for the following: Ubi festival; socio-economic development in municipalities; surveying services dam project in Talibon; power supply for cold storage at old city airport; various agricultural programs (like yellow corn, freshwater multi-species for Tilapia hatcheries, bangus fingerlings, fish cages, seaweeds dryer).

Included were preparations for the El Nino; road access development; mobile diagnostic vans; support of the Capitol mobile clinic operation; bereavement assistance program; professional and other general services requirements for  hospitals (medicines, medical, dental laboratory supplies); Boholano cultural heritage and Arts; youth development program; and disaster risk reduction program.

The supplemental budget was signed by Balite, Cepedoza, BMs Aldner Damalerio, Tita V. Baja, Atty. Tomas Abapo, Jr., Atty Jiselle Rae Villamor and Gloria B. Gementiza, who represented as president of the Philippine Councilors League Bohol chapter.

It will be recalled that Cepedoza was also one of the sponsors of Ordinance that govern the Annual Budget this year. (rvo)
