MRS. Herlyn Maligmat Ducot of barangay Poblacion Sur was the first Mrs. Batuan 2023, the first ever pageant for married moms here, according to Mayor Atty. Antonino M. Jumawid.
Mrs. Ducot, who bested other 12 hopefuls from other barrios, was crowned by the mayor and Miss Batuan 2023 Miss Melot Olivario and assisted by the mayor’s better-half, Nora B. Jumawid during the coronation night July 22, 2023 at the town’s gymnasium.
Completing Ducot’s royals Liezel dela Serna Acero (Pob Vieja), 1st Runner-up Cherry Jane Esios (brgy Rosariohan), 2nd RU; Aira Christyl Pacatang Llano (brgy Garcia), 3rd RU; and Cheryl Hingpit Maturan (brgy Cantigdas), 4th RU.
Miss Ducot also harvested other special awards. She bagged that Best in Gown, Best in Festival Costume, Best in Advocacy and People’s Choice.
The Board of Judges were Atty. Cheryl Bacalares, Rebecca Lumen Binlod, Aileen Sendrijas Pasagad, Rev . Fr. Carmelo Tandugon and Ric V. Obeddencio.
Ms. Marietta Ramirez Adlaon and Atty. Espejo were the lead organizers of the pageant.
Meanwhile, Vice Mayor Bulalaque was right in citing married women who are not only good at home.
She said that with the search of Mrs. Batuan 2023, women also have beauty and brains. They’re not confined on to having 4Bs —-bana (husband), bata, (child), balay (home) and baboy (hog apparently for preparation for fiesta and other festivities). (rvo)
