THE most awaited festive celebration of Bohol Sandugo 2023 which lined up an array of activities from day one of July to the end of the month has officially began.
Governor Aris Aumentado led the provincial officials with Vice-Gov. Victor A. Balite in ribbon-cutting ceremony held at the old city airport as the opening salvo of the celebration with bigger participation by different sectors after the pandemic.
He was assisted by his wife, Congresswoman Vanessa C. Aumentado, provincial administrator Aster Caberte, provincial legal officer Atty. Handel Lagunay, Board member Lucille Lagunay and officials of national agencies in the ribbon-cutting.
Also present during the opening Board members Atty. Benjie Arcamo and Aldner Damalerio, heads of offices, visitors and performers.
The opening ceremony was graced by the beautiful candidates for Miss Bohol Sandugo and Rajah of Bohol. The WinArts Dance Anatomy performed the Sandugo reenactment.
The Feast Band was the first to perform in praise and worship hymns with young ones participated in and sang the beat of the music.
Some of the highlights of the celebration are the Miss Bohol Sandugo 2023 coronation on July 15; 169th anniversary of Bohol’s birthday on July 22; and the ‘mardi gras’ (street dancing competition) on July 30.
Other activities include sports in football, mountain bike, triathlon, chess, swimming competition and dart festival.
