1,739 graduating college students and jobseekers attended a Pre-Employment Orientation Seminar (PEOS) organized by the Bohol Employment and Placement Office – Public Employment Service Office (BEPO-PESO) at the Bohol Cultural Center last February 28, 2023.
BEPO-PESO head Vilma Yorong said the seminar is timely with the upcoming Local and Overseas Job Fair on Saturday, March 4, 2023 to be held also at the Bohol Cultural Center.
The biannual PEOS is designed to provide all the needed information for job seekers to enter the workforce. Resource speakers included Kim Brian Chua of jobs180 who spoke about building a resume and hurdling the interview. And Karl Frederick Arriola of the Department of Migrant Workers discussed overseas employment and illegal recruitment while Janssen Ocaña of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Bohol Field Office tackled labor and employment regulations.
Chief of Staff Atty. Filipina Asoy-Piollo, who graced the program on behalf of Gov. Aris Aumentado, thanked BEPO-PESO and partner agencies for an informative forum on the Dos and Dont’s of employment. She reiterated the strategic agenda of the Provincial Government to sustain an environment for job creation.
The participating schools include Mater Dei College in Tubigon, Bohol Wisdom School College, Cristal-E College in Panglao, Bohol Island State University (BISU) Main Campus as well as Bilar and Clarin Campuses, Talibon Polytechnic College, Philippine Maritime Institute, and BIT International College.
