16 Tricycle Drivers Associations joined together to compete in a basketball tournament organized by City Mayor Jane Yap and First Gentleman Baba Yap. The lady mayor continues to advocate the legacy of former Mayor Baba Yap who strongly pushed for sports development in the city.
“I also believe that sports are a great venue to exhibit and develop cooperation, trust, honesty, and determination. This tournament aims to do just that, not to mention the joy that sports gathering usually bring,” Mayor Jane Yap said.
The 16 teams are led by the tricycle association in ICMTODA-1; BQTODA; IBTTODA-2; TPTODA; BARTODA; ALTODA B. Inting; ICM TODA-3; DATDOA Dauis; PMTDA; TODAMAX Alturas; RAMTODA Ramiro; HTPTODA Pantalan; PMATODA; ALTODA CPG; MANTODA, and IBTTODA-1. All the competitions will be held in the Saulog Gymnasium which started on January 4, 2023 until February 25, 2023. Php10,000 awaits the grand champion, while the second place takes Php7,000. The third and fourth placers will get Php5,000 and Php3,000 respectively. The City Government provided all the uniforms, prizes, and logistical expenses.
