TAGBILARAN CITY, Philippines— The newly chartered Central Visayas Region VIII (CVR VIII – Bohol Region) of the Fraternal Order of Eagles – Philippine Eagles (TFOE-PE) kicked off its first regional basketball tournament in Barangay San Isidro, Tagbilaran City on November 26, 2022.
This sporting event was hosted by the Francisco Dagohoy Eagles Club (FDEC) Tagbilaran City led by its Club President, Ret. PMaj. Raymond Halasan in coordination with the CVR VIII Governor Marvin P. Bolic and Regional Officer for Health and Sports, Dr. Arnold Cagulada.
The event started with a Holy Mass at the St. Joseph The Worker Cathedral Parish at 7:00 in the morning followed by a motorcade from Plaza Rizal to Barangay San Isidro gym.
The program highlighted the search for best muse among the seven (7) club muses. Ms Cecil Mae Grupp of Sidlak sa Kasilak EC got the award as Best Muse CVR VIII 2022; Miss Geynn Curambis representing Ilihan Hills Eagles Club as 1st Runner Up and Camille Paz Estrera as 2nd runner up representing Sigala Loboc Eagles Club. Our Mutya ng Brgy Bool Tagb City 2019 Miss Fretzie Joyce Astronomo was the Chairman of the Board of Judges and she was assisted by City Councilor Hon. Fausto Budlong, who also extends his message to the fraternal.
Tagbilaran City Mayor Jane Yap also graced this event together with former Mayor Baba Yap with their inspirational messages and a cash prize of P10,000 for the tournament. Indeed, the fraternal was very thankful for the support given by the City Mayor.
Seven participating clubs including Rajah Sikatuna Eagles Club (RSEC) of Panglao, Bohol headed by Club President PMajor Marvin Bolic; Francisco Dagohoy Eagles Club (FDEC) Tagbilaran City headed by Club Rtd. PMaj Raymond Halasan; Sidlak-Kasilak Eagles Club (SKEC) of Loon, Bohol with Club President Atty. Sherlito Columnas; Hagakhak sa Bohol Eagles Club (HBEC) of Sagbayan, Bohol with Club President Atty Chad Mier; Sigala Loboc Eagles Club (SLEC) of Loboc, Bohol with Club President PLt. Camilo Estrera; Chocolate Hills Eagles Club (CHEC) of Carmen, Bohol with Club President PMajor Romar Labasbas and Ilihan Hills Eagles Club (IHEC) of Jagna, Bohol headed by Club President Dr. Arnold Cagulada aggrouped to the hardcourt for the opening day games.
The players in each team are comprised of regular active member “KUYA” or member of this fraternal organization growing internationally. The tournament fosters unity, brotherhood, and wellness among the members of the Fraternal Order of Eagles-Philippine Eagles Central Visayas Region VIII.
