The result of the review was released on November 15, declaring Tagbilaran CDDRMO as FULLY-COMPLIANT.

THE City Government of Tagbilaran extends its warmest congratulations to the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) for being adjudged as FULLY-COMPLIANT (National Level) by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council thru the National Gawad KALASAG Selection Committee.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) awards the Gawad Kalasag Seal to Local DRRM councils and offices for adhering to the “standards for the establishment and functionality of the local DRRM Councils and local DRRM Offices” as outlined in Republic Act 10121, also known as the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010.

The CDRRM has always exhibited its preparedness whenever a typhoon or possible flooding is imminent by conducting regular pre-disaster meetings. Incident Command System are automatically activated. The meeting is made to have the pre-assessment rolled out and for the proper implementation of pre-emptive disaster plans.

Also, before the onset of any weather disturbance or impending flooding report, the CDRRMO immediately establishes its Emergency Operations Center (EOC), including the activation of barangay EOCs and the setting up of a Communications group which is on stand-by 24/7. The CDRRMO continuously conducts training, including Training of Trainers, Basic Incident Command Course program, orientation, and local DRRM activities, among others to hone the skills of its members.
