AS part of its annual program of activities and advocacy campaign in line with the celebration of National Tech-Voc Day, the Technical Education Skills and Development Authority (TESDA7) is now preparing for the conduct of this year’s World Café of Opportunities (WOC) in Central Visayas.
To be held on August 25, WOC is an annual event conducted by TESDA that serves as a strategic avenue in providing job opportunities to job seekers in the region.
The event also serves as a platform for government agencies, technical vocational institutions, and private companies to find skilled workers.
Aside from being a link between job applicants and employment opportunities, the activity will also provide other offerings such as training for skills upgrading, entrepreneurship training programs, and financial loan assistance.
During the coordination meeting held on August 5 attended by its partner government agencies involved in the preparation for WOC, TESDA7 said they have already sent a letter to Development Bank of the Philippines and LandBank of the Philippines, who will provide support to the implementation of the financial loan assistance.
They have also asked the Department of Trade and Industry to spearhead the conduct of the entrepreneurship training.
The agency announced that the free registration is ongoing for job applicants and employers in both the private and public sectors who want to take part in the event.
The links for the registration forms are as follows:

TESDA7 is looking at the number of Hired on the Spot (HOTS) as a success indicator of WOC, as their ultimate goal is to have a high percentage of HOTS during the one-day event.
TESDA7 Regional Director Gamaliel Vicente Jr. said he is hoping that the event will further strengthen agency collaboration to provide programs to clients more effectively in moving towards the new normal and boost regional economic activity. (Robinson Cabardo Jr /PIA7)
