BOHOL Gov. Aris Aumentado and Tagbilaran City lady Mayor Jane Yap vowed support for the development of Bohol art.
The governor and the city mayor graced the Bohol Art Expo 2022 held at the old Spanish-built library, then the “Escuela de Nina Museum” fronting Plaza Rizal, Tagbilaran City.
Both led the ceremonial ribbon-cutting with other guests and the legend in Bohol visual art, Ric Ramasola, media, spectators and the artists.
Aris and Jane gave each message of inspiration and after they toured the display of paintings of varied subjects.
In a bid to celebrate the Boholano creativity and culture, the exhibits kicked off to feature art works of 24 Boholano visual artists. It started on July 11, 2022 up to September 5, 2022.
The exposition, which is open to the public, serves as a perfect opportunity for both the expert and the young artists to showcase their craft and craetivity.
The artists are Anna Palban, Arman Quieta, Ayah, Andrei and Erica, Deya Tsyna, Eric Catot, Francis Cris B. Gulayan, Francis Javier Labao, Fria Vale, Jade Aneglie Pahuyo, Jeffrey Sisican, Jhacky Curambao, Jonie Cepedoza, Joseph Ingking and Jumjum Ouano.
Lucell Larawan, Mercedes Cubelo, RaulJoseph B. Lungay, Rio Cabahug, Rosemarie R. Caracol, S. A. Tutor, Steven Mari A. Luspo, Sylvia Gonser, Teo Palban and Vincent Gmar Dagdayan.
The momentous event is believed to help the art market in Bohol, inspiring artistic creativity among Boholanos. (rvo with Mary Lycel Orias)
