I FIND it very amusing to read the editorial of one leading national daily when it tried to make a comparison between the case of Senator Bato dela Rosa and journalist Philip Lustre Jr.
In both cases kuno, the issue being raised was due process. While in the case of Dela Rosa, his allies and supporters are demanding due process in effecting his arrest on crimes against humanity charges, none kuno was afforded or ignored in the case of Lustre.
It may be recalled that Lustre was arrested last week, but was later freed after paying bail bond, for the crime of cyberlibel.
The irony is hard to miss kuno. Due process for Bato but no due process for Lustre.

Pagka-dako sa deperens oi and klaro man kaayo ang “half-slip sa bias” sa maong national daily against the Dutertes and its allies.
In Bato’s case, there is no case filed against him in any court in the country, there is no warrant of arrest issued by any court in the country either. There is no warrant from the Interpol either.
There is only that warrant kuno from the International Criminal Court (ICC) where the Philippines is no longer a member hence not bound to recognize much more obey its orders.
In the case of Lustre, he is facing a cyberlibel complaint and a warrant for his arrest has been issued by a local court.
There lies that very big difference.
Dunay kaso si Lustre dinhi, not so in the case of Bato. Mismo ang interpol walay warrant for his arrest.
For a daily newspaper nga “objective” kunohay, that bias and partiality is too glaring to escape attention.
Anyway, nganong atat na atat man kaayo si BBM nga ipadakop si Bato? Is he now moonlighting as an ICC enforcer?

Tsismis ni ha.
A mayor usurped and illegally occupied a parcel of land owned by another person. Through illegal and fraudulent machinations, he was able to secure a title over the land despite knowledge that the land does not belong to him.
What are we in power for, he reportedly boasted adding that as mayor of the town where the property is located, he is king.
Because the lot owner is financially challenged – and the mayor knows this – he was super confident that the lot owner would not seek court intervention, otherwise, mogasto gyod sila og dako-dako.
So when the husband of the lot owner sought approval of his termination papers as an official of the municipal college, the mayor tried to “braso” the lot owner into submission hinting that he could make their life difficult if he wanted to. King lagi kuno siya sa maong lungsod.
The lot owner refused to take the bait and maintained her silence.
Suddenly, she got an idea and called up a lawyer who had a “beef” with the mayor and his family.
Presto, naka-abogado na dayon sila.
And the lot owner is now looking for money for the legal costs, then buruka na dayon.

Meanwhile, pagka-dakong eskandalo kining gihimo ni DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla nga mohatag og 50 milyones ka pesos sa makahatag og kasayoran aron madakpan si senador Bato dela Rosa.
Matawag og eskandalo kay tiaw bay sayon ra kaayo siya maka-kita og ingon ana ka dako nga kwarta aron lang sa pagpadakop sa usa ka tawo nga mora ba og daghan kaayo og pundo nga kwarta ang atong gobierno, nga mora ba og naglunang o naglunop na ang nasod sa kadaghan sa kwarta.
Eskandalo sab kaayo kay tiaw bay mogasto siya og ingon ana ka dako nga kwarta aron lang pagpadakop ni Bato unya ang mando sa pagdakop dili pa gyod gikan sa atong balaod, kon dili gikan pa gyod sa mando sa ICC nga dili na man unta ta sakop niini.
Matawag sab nga eskandalo kay angay unta nga ang ICC ang mangusog nga madakpan og dili si SILG Remulla, ilabi na kon kwarta sa mga tawo ang gamiton alang niini.
Unsa nga pondo sa DILG ang gamiton ni Remulla alang niini?
Wala ba kaha makalapas sa balaod si Remulla kon gamiton niya ang pondo sa DILG o sa PNP aron pagpasunod sa mando sa ICC?
Mahimo ba siyang kasohan og anti-graft kon himoon gyod niya kini?

Nahimong sumsuman karon ang posibling mahitabo sa piniliay sa 2028. Matod pa, kinsa kaha sa mga politiko ang mosugot nga maapil sa linya sa mga kandidato sa pagka-senador ubos ni BBM sa 2028?

Kay sa politika, kon padung na mohuman ang presidente sa iyang termino, tawgon na kini og inutil o wa nay pulos kay dili na man siya mahimong modagan pa kay usa ka termino ra man ang gihatag kaniya. Gani, sa usa ka probinsiya nga siya ang “tig-kampanya” sa mga kandidato kauban ang mga milansad pagka-senador, mona-mona og siyagit nga “BBM, BBM, BBM” ang usa ka gobernador atubangan sa bagang hut-ong sa mga hakot nga mga empleyado unya wala lang magtagad ang mga tawo mao nga miingon ang gobernador nga “Matay, mingaw man.”
Kon nahitabo kini kaniya nga gamhanan pa siya, unsa na kaha karon nga padung na siya mohawa unya mismo ang iyang igsoon mitawag kaniya og adik o bangag?
Kon sa mga politiko pa, makatabang pa kaha kini o maka-disgrasya lang hinoon?
