
THE Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) continuously strengthens the competence of trainers and adult leaders to ensure quality implementation of scouting programs. The Bohol Council Trainers’ Update serves as a venue for trainers to receive current program directions, share best practices, align initiatives with national and council priorities, and enhance competencies in leadership, child protection, inclusivity, environmental stewardship, and community engagement.
GSP Bohol Council conducte the Trainers’ Update at the Bohol Council Program and Training Center, Tagbilaran City on June 27-28, 2026, with the theme, ““Strengthening Leadership, Service, and Innovation in Girl Scouting”. The activity aimed to: discuss recent updates and directions of the GSP programs and policies; strengthen competencies in training facilitation and scouting leadership; share effective practices and innovations in council and district implementation; integrate child protection and safeguarding principles in scouting activities; and develop action plans for district-level implementation.
The first session was the re-orientation on “What Is A Girl Scout Trainer?”. The session discusses on the attibutes of an effective trainer, multi-roles of an effective trainer, responsibilities of a girl scout trainer, Girl Scout Trainer skills, and a Girl Scout Trainer’s Proficiency Dimensions.
The Council Training School conducted was also presented. The summary of training evaluation was also discussed for possible improvement. The training accomplishment report was also presented. The tentative training schedule for the school year 2026-2027 was presented.
GSP Bohol Council Executive Priscilla Moonyeen P. Montanez and GSP Bohol Council President Emma P. Castillo facilitated the conducte of the trainers’ update 2026. The activity ensures that the trainers are updated, committed, and didcated to perform their specific roles and task as GSP Bohol trainers for the coming school year.
