Tagbilaran launches energy crisis aid package

The package includes ₱1,000 food vouchers, free rides via “Libreng Sakay” program, and fuel subsidies, aiming for energy resilience and improved transport systems (April 10, 2026).

THE City Government of Tagbilaran has launched a ₱40.35 Million Energy Crisis Social Protection Package to help families, transport drivers and fisherfolk cope with rising fuel and food prices, Mayor Jane Yap announced on April 10, 2026.

The crisis package includes: ₱1,000 food voucher for every registered household; Expanded “Libreng Sakay”; ₱2,000 fuel subsidy for transport drivers and fisherfolk; and ₱40.35 million supplemental budget.

Mayor Yap said the package integrates immediate relief with longer-term reforms under an Urban Development Plan.

Planned projects include new roads, mass-transport hubs, electric buses, and solar-powered terminals.

“This is not a promise — this is concrete help for every Tagbilaranon family,” Mayor Yap said.

“We will roll out fast, targeted assistance while building a more organized transport system”.

She thanked Vice Mayor Adam Jala, City Councilors, and the City Hall team for their support.

The City Government will release operational details in the coming days.
