Tagbilaran rolls out rice aid distribution to benefit city households

RICE ASSISTANCE.  A resident of Barangay Taloto receives a 5kg sack of rice from Tagbilaran City Govt and barangay officials on Jan 28, 2026, as part of the 2026 Rice Program, a door-to-door initiative by Mayor Jane Yap for Tagbilaranon families.

MAYOR Jane Yap kicks off the new year prioritizing family welfare by launching the 2026 rollout of the city’s 5kg Rice Program.

The city-wide distribution began on January 27, 2026, covering all registered households listed in the latest Barangay Registry of Inhabitants (RBI).

City officials said the door-to-door approach was introduced to streamline the process, reduce crowding, and guarantee that beneficiaries receive the assistance directly.

The rice distribution is a fulfillment of the Yap-Jala Administration’s “Serbisyong Buhat, Kontra Saad” initiative, highlighting the city government’s commitment to food security and the welfare of families.

Mayor Yap emphasized that the program reflects the administration’s focus on delivering timely and concrete assistance to Tagbilaran residents, especially amid rising basic commodity prices.

She also thanked barangay officials and city personnel for their coordination and support in the ongoing distribution.

Distribution was conducted on January 27 in Barangays Cabawan, Poblacion 1, and Poblacion 3.

This was followed with another round of rice distribution in barangays Booy, Poblacion 2 and Taloto on January 28.

On January 29, distribution continued in Barangays Dao, Mansasa and Tiptip.

The distribution of free rice to city residents will continue on February 3 in Barangay Bool, Barangay Dampas, and Barangay Manga.

On the other hand, Barangays Ubujan, Cogon and San Isidro will receive their rice allocation on February 4 to 5.

City officials assured the public that all registered residents will be covered as scheduled, with house-to-house delivery ensuring that no eligible household is left out.

Residents are advised to coordinate with the City General Services Office (CGSO), City Administrator’s Office, or the Barangay Affairs and Constituency Office (BACU) for specific schedules and updates in their respective barangays.
