NOBODY but themselves to blame.
I am referring of course to some politicians who are now burdened by social media bashings left and right, not because they are extra-diligent in securing projects for their districts but because of the super-duper quick process of acquiring sooooo much wealth and resources in so short a time.
Kalit-kalit man lang og ka-dato. Dili lang dato, hilabihang datoa na gyod.
Well, we can probably enumerate several rich families in the city, mostly businessmen, rich and landed families.
But compared to these filthy rich politicians, they are sisiw.
Why?
Because it took decades for these businessmen to accumulate wealth and resources.
But these politicians of yore, susko, pila pa lang gani ka tuig, miburot na man dayon ang bulsa sa ka-dato, sa ka hilabihan ka dato.

Kon naghilom-hilom pa lang unta ni sila, kanang pa simple-simple lang unta ba, wala ra untay problema. Bahalag nag-awas-awas na ilang ka-dato.
But they could not keep it to themselves. They had to shout to the world and let the people know that they are already very rich.
Bisag unsa na lay i-post sa pisbok, all along showing the ostentatious display of questionable wealth.
Unsa may ika-sulti sa mga tawo?
Imbes mo-believe, ma-eskandalo na hinuon.
Nganong kalit man lang na siya og ka-dato, dis-a man na siya kakuha og kwarta nga kon sweldo ray saligan, dili man unta ingon ana ka-dako, common questions from folks like you and me.

I once know of a local politician who conducts politics and business altogether during the campaign period.
How?
Nagpahulam siya og kwarta sa mga politiko nga mamaylo kay kulang ang campaign funds, yeah, common occurrence during local elections. Kana laging hangin ray gadaghan pero way sulod ang bulsa or nagsalig lang sa uban nga maoy mogasto sa ilang pamolitika.
So this politician allows borrowing of funds for campaign purposes but siyempre, negosyo pod. Ang pangayoon nga collateral kay titulo sa yuta.
No titulo, no utang, that simple.
