
CONGRESSWOMAN Vanvan Aumentado (2nd dist) has filed at the House of Representatives twin bills for the medical profession’s upgrade of their rate of salaries.
She filed before the Bills and Index at the HOR recently House Bill No. 4838, upgrading the basic salary of government nurses entry level from salary grade 15 to SG 19, as the amending section 32 of Republic Act No. 9173, known as The Philippines Nurses Act of 2002.
She said the measure not only aligns with fair labor standards but also serves as an investment in the country’s human capital.
“In addition to fostering retention, this increase will uplift the morale of our nurses, encourage young professionals to serve in the public sector, and reaffirm the State’s commitment to valuing healthcare workers as essential partners in nation-building.”
She also filed House Bill No. 4839, upgrading the basic salary of government meical doctors from SG 21 to SG 24.
The measure aims to: (1) Retain competent and experienced medical doctors in the government service; (2) Improve morale and motivation among public healthcare professionals; and (3) Strengthen the country’s public health system by ensuring the continuous availability of skilled medical practitioners.
