SAN Isidro councilor Gloria B. Gementiza cried betrayal when she was defeated by neophyte Cortes councilor Joahna Cabalit Initay with a slim margin of 17 votes in the Philippine Councilors’ League (PCL) presidential race last week.
Gementiza posted on her facebook, “Betrayal,” “Sad Reality” and “Kaila ko og kinsa mo.” (I know who you are).
She also confirmed this in a live interview with dYTR’s Ted Ayeng morning program.
Gementiza admitted there is always a winner and a loser in every game. Because of what she called a betrayal from her colleagues in the league, she was hurt.
She said she has a ‘clean heart’ since she did not make money when she was then PCL president.
Nobody expected a Gementiza loss in the PCL presidency as the Abante team was believed to be supporting her.
Gov. Aris Aumentado and Vice-Gov. Nick Besas extended their respective congratulatory message to Initay, who is expected to assume office on Tuesday during the regular session of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.
Initay succeeds Besas as ex-officio member of the provincial board.
