‘Crising’ disrupts Sandugo; school classes suspended

TAGBILARAN CITY – The monsoon (Habagat) wind and intermittent rain brought about by tropical storm, “Crising” disrupted the month-long Bohol Sandugo celebration and the week-long Agri-Fair held at Plaza Rizal here, the Office of the Provincial Governor announced yesterday (July 18).

The said office also bared that Bantawan Park (situated in Old Tagbilaran Airport), where the activities are held and Agri Fair (Plaza Rizal this city) are temporarily closed.

Public school classes in about 40 towns and private tertiary schools, including this city, have been suspended by their respective town mayors and private administrators, respectively, reports reaching The TIMES said.

The said office also gave the local chief executives discretion to effect the classes and work suspension of their respective turf apparently for the school children and citizen’s safety.

The Philippines Coast Guard based here also announced the suspension of the sea trips from and to nearby province’s due to the increment weather. Those allowed to cruise the sea are three-tonner vessels. Stranded passengers, especially for the light fast crafts, were promised refund, if not to wait for another schedule of their trips.

As far as the air travel is concerned at the Bohol Panglao International Airport, there were no flight suspension, said the Bohol Provincial Tourism Office. (RVO)
