AC TURNOVER.  Mayor Jane Yap spearheads the ceremonial handover of brand-new air-conditioning units to four Day Care Centers and the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) at the Sangguniang Panlungsod Session Hall, Tagbilaran City Government, on June 10, 2025. The event was attended by barangay officials and city government employees.

TAGBILARAN City Mayor Jane Yap led the official turnover of brand-new air-conditioning units to four Tagbilaran City Day Care Centers and the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) during a simple ceremony held on June 10, 2025, at the Sangguniang Panlungsod Session Hall.

The initiative aims to improve learning conditions for young children and enhance the working environment for persons with disabilities.

The beneficiary Day Care Centers include the Karaw-an Day Care Center in Barangay Dampas, Cabawan Day Care Center, Ubujan Proper Day Care Center, and the Poblacion 2 National Child Development Center (NCDC).

One unit was also turned over to the PDAO office to support its operations and promote inclusivity in local governance.

In her message, Mayor Yap emphasized the city’s continued investment in early childhood care and inclusive services.

She underscored the importance of creating safe, comfortable, and healthy spaces for learners and frontline service providers, particularly the vulnerable sectors.

“Our children deserve to learn in a safe, healthy, and comfortable environment. This is part of our continuing investment in early childhood education and the welfare of every Tagbilaranon,” she said.

With the latest distribution, almost all of Tagbilaran City’s 36 Day Care Centers are now equipped with air-conditioning units—a significant milestone in the city’s ongoing efforts to upgrade its early childhood care facilities.

The city government has consistently prioritized the welfare of children through programs that enhance learning spaces and support the needs of daycare workers and community development workers.

Also present at the turnover ceremony were City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) Head Lucille Clarin, PDAO Head Cleofe Polestico, Punong Barangay June Ramon Duroy and Kagawad Tom Cesar Vergara of barangay Poblacion 2.

Their presence reinforced the city’s multisectoral support in delivering responsive services.

The initiative reflects the City Government of Tagbilaran’s broader vision of inclusive and accessible governance—one that ensures no child or sector is left behind in the city’s growth and progress.
