TAGBILARAN CITY – A total of P7.14 million estimated worth of illegal drugs in alleged shabu, equivalent to 1,050 grams was seized by city police operatives led by police chief Col John Escober in a buy-bust operation.
The anti-illegal drug operations took place at past ten in the evening of May 20 in barangay Dampas, this city. Just a day before, police also confiscated over P6 million worth of alleged shabu in another barangay of same city.
The suspects are identified as Joel Mondejar, 31, resident of Tuburan town in Cebu and his companion, Leolito Dahab, a resident of barangay Ubujan, also this city.
Police recovered from the possession of the suspects are the following: Five (5) large heat-sealed plastic packs and one (1) medium-sized sachet containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu.
The suspects, who are now in police custody, are facing serious charges for violation of sections 5 and 11, Republic Act No. 9165, known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002. (Ric Obedencio)
