NO less than President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has personally endorsed the candidacy of former vice-Governor Julius Caesar F. Herrera to be the next mayor of Calape, Bohol.
In a video, PRRD said, “I endorse Vice-Governor Julius Herrera for the position of mayor of Calape, Bohol. Giben his background in public service, I am confident that he will bring Calape n greater heights. Please vote for him. Thank you.”
Herrera also got an endorsement from Senator Bato dela Rosa via video uploaded in social media.
Marybelle “Binggay” dela Serna, wife of the late former governor and bar topnotcher Atty. Victor dela Serna. “Binggay” is gunning for congressman in the first district of Bohol.
Herrera was former Mayor of Calape for terms in 1995-1998 and 1998-2001.
In 2021, he was elected as vice-governor of Bohol for straight three terms from 2001 to 2010.
During the period, he served as the president League of Vice-Governors of the Philippines (LVGP) also for three terms during his incumbency as vice-governor of Bohol.
He authored the Provincial Ordinance prohibiting the testing of Genetically Modified Organism (GMO) to protect the agriculture and environment of the province.
He also initiated the series of the legislative training on barangay officials to capacitate them to fully practice the right way of the nitty-gritty of the legislative mill.
A lot barangay of 20 plus towns benefited from the said training.
Similar training was injected to few towns who availed of the free service of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan led by Herrera during his nine years stewardship. (rvo)
