
THE Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has bared the so-called areas of concern in Bohol in the forthcoming May 12 elections.
It has identified the towns of Baclayon, Candijay, Pilar and Ubay which are transformed into green from yellow category.
Green category are areas where no election-related security concern, while Yellow with a history of election-related incidents.
There are no areas in Bohol considered under the red nor orange category. Red areas with serious armed threat and history of election-related incidents, while orange with serious armed threat incidents.
The total of 585 in the upcoming polls are up for grabs. A total of 480 councilors (including Tagbilaran City with 10); 48 municipal/city mayors; 48 municipal/city mayors; 10 Sangguniang Panlalawigan members; three congressmen; one governor and one vice-governor.
There are three candidates each for governor and vice-governor and for SP (province) first district: eight (8); and 2 each for second and third districts, respectively.
A total of 105 bet for mayors; 96 for vice-mayor; 26 for City councilor; and 851 for Sangguniang Bayan (municipal councilor).
Bohol is now having a total of 981,564 registered voters in 1,074 voting centers and 1,542 clustered centers. (rvo)
