Panglao earns P103.9-M from EUF collection in ‘24

THE tourism industry of this premier tourist town of Panglao appears to be bullish as it generates P103,924,288.75 as revenue from its effective implementation of the environmental user’s fee (EUF).

“Ako magarbuhon nga magpahibalo ug magpakita kaninyu pinanggang Panglaoanon sa atong ni-aging tuig 2024 nga Environmental User’s Fee (EUF) Collection,” Mayor Boy Arcay said in his facebook post.

(I’m proud to inform you Panglaoanons of the increased collection of the EUF).

The biggest collection took place during the month of August 2024 with P10,819,620.00  and the lowest is during March – P6,496,360.50, according to the report submitted by municipal treasurer Rena Guivencan.

Other monthly gross EUF income are: January – P7,725,783.25; February – P8,838,953.50; April – P9,669,367.50; May – 9,055,929.50; June – P8439,375.00; July – P10,253,875.00; September 2024 – P6,536,800.00; October – P8,621,775.00; November – P8,649,475.00; and December – P8,817,445.00.

“Kining dako nga pagsaka pagpaila sa atong Good Governance, gipahinungod sa pagpadayon sa serbisyo publiko ug pagpalawig sa kahusayan sa koleksyon,” the mayor said.

(The increase in the EUF collection is a collective effort in good governance).

The mayor is hopeful that the said collection increase is also a contributory in elevating the town’s status to a first class town.

The EUF system has been made a model in other local government units in the country apparently to continue the environmental preservation and conservation initiatives. (rvo)
