A COUPLE of days ago, the whole universe celebrated Valentine’s Day – a day of lovers.
As to how Valentine’s Day is celebrated, Short Cuts maintains his belief that such a celebration greatly depends on the person or persons concerned. They may do it in a happy mode. A happier atmosphere maybe desired by both parties. The happiest beginning and ending of a celebration can also be dreamed.
But, can it be celebrated by one person only?
In the affirmative, Short Cuts strongly believes. For, is it not a fact that one must love himself or herself first before loving others?
Be a Valentine of yourself first before having another Valentine! In the same way that you must love first your own body before loving another one. Because by knowing to love yourself first, loving another one would no longer pose any danger in the days to come.
Is Valentine’s Day celebration a hearty affair dedicated only to two personalities of opposite sexes? Short Cuts believes otherwise.
The public is now fully aware of the many set of lovers posing different styles. They come from the same sex parading the city streets and maneuvering entertainment areas. They usually come as Pedro versus Jose and Pedrita versus Josefa.
And, in last Friday’s (February 14) Valentine’s Day celebration, Short Cuts was greatly amazed, totally surprised.
For the first time in his lifetime, his trip was delayed for more than thirty minutes!
He was already at the Tagbilaran-Dauis junction when he encountered a heavy traffic. His vehicle was made to stop and stay for more than half an hour!
Reason? Hilabihan kadaghan sa sakyanan!
Rason? Tungod sa Valentine’s Day!
So, what if we declare every day a Valentine’s Day?
