TO SPARK and attract tourism activities in Tagbilaran, the City Tourism Office mounted a colorful sign in the Friendship Park in Brgy. Bool. The sign overlooking the park serves as a beacon of attraction to onlookers. It also provided a colorful backdrop to the park.
City Tourism Office May Hope Arcenal said the signage is just one of the initiatives of the City Government to jumpstart tourism activities. With the easing of alert levels, fully-vaccinated visitors can now go to Tagbilaran without the strict health protocols.
Before the pandemic, Tagbilaran City enjoys revenues from economic transactions from hotels, pension houses, and commercial stores. The daily transaction brought about by various tourism activities in the city such as meetings, conventions, and events have greatly contributed to the City Government’s local income. Hopefully this year, Tagbilaran intends to harness its tourism potentials by setting up initiatives to generate interest in the city’s scenic spots.
To date, the construction of the green park in the Central Market is on-going. The green park is expected to draw visitors from both local and foreign tourists alike. (Jeanette Busano)
