11th annual City Christmas Gift-Giving
and Feeding Program for Children

THE City Hall atrium became a haven of joy and laughter as Mayor Jane Yap led the 11th annual Christmas Gift-Giving and Feeding Program for children on December 21, 2024.

The tradition, which began in 2012 under former Mayor John Geesnell “Baba” Yap, continues to spread holiday cheer and hope to young Tagbilaranons.

Interrupted only once during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the event has become a cherished staple of the city’s holiday festivities.

Organized in partnership with the private sector, this year’s program received generous sponsors’ contributions.

Globe Telecom donated colorful t-shirts for the children; Du Ek Sam distributed festive loot bags; and Solane provided cash prizes to bring even more excitement to the celebration.

Mayor Yap, in her message, expressed her gratitude to the sponsors and highlighted the importance of the event in fostering a sense of community and giving. “This program is a testament to the unity and generosity of Tagbilaran City. It reminds us of the true spirit of Christmas—sharing joy and blessings with those around us, especially our children,” she said.

Children from different barangays enjoyed a day filled with fun activities, hearty meals, and heartwarming gifts.

The smiles and laughter of the young participants reflected the success of the event in creating memorable moments for families during the holiday season.

The annual program continues to strengthen the city’s partnership with the private sector and reinforces the administration’s commitment to nurturing the welfare of Tagbilaran’s youth.

As Mayor Yap emphasized, “The gift of joy and kindness is what makes Christmas meaningful, and this tradition is one we will always cherish and uphold.”
