CONGRESSWOMAN Ma. Vanessa C. Aumentado (2nd district, Bohol) bared that Bohol is now qualified for creation of additional two schools divisions.
Bohol has already two existing schools divisions, the Tagbilaran City Schools division and the old provincial (Bohol) schools divisions. The former covers the entire schools located within the city’s territorial jurisdiction, while the latter the whole of the province.
She told media huddle yesterday that she has filed a bill creating two more schools division offices in the province.
The proposed law is numbered House Bill No. 4448, establishing 2 additional schools divisions in Bohol and approved by the House on August 28, 2024. It is transmitted to the Senate on the following day for consideration, she said.
She said that if these two additional schools divisions are in place or implemented, most teachers may not anymore go to the city where the Bohol schools division is located.
It was not known where these additional school divisions are located. But it may be an ideal that one is located somewhere in Carmen town as the center and one may be in the second district.
Meanwhile, her husband Gov. Aris Aumentado participated in the recent “Pahalipay and Pasalamat” meeting with the honchos of the Department of Education (DepEd).
“It is therefore, our shared vision that we provide the best quality of education that our students deserve and equip our teachers with the right knowledge and skills to make education an engaging and worthwhile endeavor, not a tiring one,” the governor pointed out in his speech.
The said gathering is DepEd’s Partnership Appreciation Program apparently sponsored by Schools Division Superintendent, Assistant Schools Division Superintendents, Supervisors and stakeholders.
The governor has recently met with DepEd officials during the gathering held at the Philippine National Museum. He considered the inputs and opinions of the DepEd teachers and officials important to improve education in the province. (rvo)
