FOUR progressive barangays of Corella town led by their respective barangay chieftains have harvested awards. Barangays Anislag, Cancatac, Poblacion and Sambog, all of Corella town were awardees for 2023 Seal of Good Local Governance for Barangays (SGLGB) during the awarding rites of 128th Pres. Carlos P. Garcia Day celebration held at Bohol cultural Center, November 4, 2024.
Corella also got The Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance in 2021 and 2022.
No less than Corella Mayor Manju Lim and their barangay chairs received the said awards from Gov. Aris Aumentado. The latter was assisted by DILG director Atty. Leocadio Trovela, DILG Bohol Jerome Gonzales, and Vice-Gov. Tita V. Baja and MLGOO of Corella.
Other awardees of the same awards were Brgy. Cantiguib, Alburquerque; Badiang, Anda; Poblacion, Candijay; Tambongan, Candijay; Tubod, Candijay; Manga, Tagbilaran City; Poblacion Centro, Clarin; Basdio, Guindulman; Candulang Lila; Calvario, Loay; and Yanangan, Loay, Bohol.
Barangay Cansibao of Valencia town got the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Award 2024 under 4th to 6th Class Municipality; Brgy. Tabalong, Dauis, first runner -up; and Brgy. Haguilanan, Catigbian, 2nd Runner-up. Brgy. Taloto, Tagbilaran City got the LTI award in component city category.
The Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance awardees are: Alburquerque (in 2021 & 2022); Antequera (2021); Bien-Unido (2021 & 2022); Calape (2022); Catigbian (2022); Corella (2021 & 2022); Getafe (2021); Guindulman (2022); Loay (2022); Loboc (2022); Sevilla (2022); Sikatuna (20220; Tagbilaran City (2022); Talibon (2019 & 2022); Trinidad (2019 & 20220 and Tubigon (2019, 2021 & 2022).
Loboc town is the only town feted the Seal of Good Local Governance Awardee.
Meanwhile, the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) related to Star Books for Governance in every town was done with the governor, Trovela, Gonzales, DOST Provincial Director Vina Antopina, LMP President CPG Mayor Fernando Estavilla during the same occasion. (rvo)
