CONGRESSWOMAN Alexie B. Tutor of 3rd district, Bohol, minced no words of lambasting barangay Odiong, Jagna town, led by its chairman for alleged disrespect to her.
In her high pitch speech before a throng of supporters during the proclamation rally of Jagna’s candidates led by reelectionist Mayor Joseph Ranola last week, Tutor said that what she deserves is just a respect.
Tutor’s ire against the barangay chair stemmed from the alleged changing or repainting the covered court with blue, in effect covering the orange painted by the Department of Public Works and highways (DPWH III) as its official color.
She said in vernacular that what the barangay has done to the said project is like a slap on her face.
The painting of the project with blue was probably prompted with the alleged blessing of the Capitol, Jagna Anthony Aniscal councilor suspected.
The blue is the official banner color of the Padayon Bol-anon political group led by Gov. Arthur C. Yap.
Tutor lamented that if this barangay official seemed to be disrespectful now, how much more if he is on a higher position in the government.
The said barangay chairman is the incumbent Liga nga mga Barangay president and running for town councilor under the opposition bloc, Aniscal said.
Tutor explained that as the representative of the 3rd district she did her assignment in putting in place the budget for the project in the General Appropriations Act.
She said that it is not her practice of being selective in allocating funds for hard or soft projects for the district constituents’ welfare. (rvo)
