SYMPATHIES and prayers poured for the passing of Vice-Gov. Dionisio Victor Ancog Balite.
“Colleagues, friends and workers at Capitol expressed their condolences over Balite’s passing, highlighting his contributions as a public servant,” said Bohol Island News in its facebook page.
Bohol Vice Gov. Dionisio Victor Balite has died. He was 52. The vice governor died in a hospital in Tagbilaran City, July 17 at past 8 in the evening, according to his family. The official cause of death has not been disclosed, however.
“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Papa Victor Balite. We kindly ask for your prayers for the eternal repose of his soul,” said Balite’s son, Rev. Fr. Bernadine Jade Dionne Balite in his Facebook post.
His son and secretary Dedjay Balite: “You maybe far away pa. But your legacy will always live. The Balite legacy will always live, will always continue and will Go Beyond as to what was then, what it is now and will be in the future. This is what we always say,ABANTE. I miss you so much my boss.”
The provincial government has caused the flag in a half-mast and dedicate the weekly press conference to his tribute where media personalities said few words of sympathies and prayers.
It was expected that the remains of Balite would be brought to Capitol on July 29 for public viewing and prayers. His remains lie in estate at the BIT Dao chapel.
Balite started his political career as board member in 2016. He won as vice governor in 2022 elections.
On May 28, 2024, Balite assumed as acting governor after Gov. Aris Aumentado was suspended because of the Chocolate Hills fiasco.
