THE Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) awarded a Certificate of Commendation to the City Government of Tagbilaran for its fully streamlined and digitalized electronic Business One-Stop-Shop (eBOSS).
The commendation ceremony, followed by a Bagong Pilipinas Townhall Meeting and Media Conference, was held at the Bohol Tropics Resort on July 15, 2024.
Mayor Jane Yap personally received the commendation from ARTA Secretary Ernesto Perez.
This recognition marks a significant milestone for Tagbilaran City, making it the first local government unit (LGU) in Bohol, the 45th LGU and one among less than 10 in the Visayas to receive such commendation for its fully compliant eBOSS.
The eBOSS system has revolutionized business permitting and licensing procedures in Tagbilaran, significantly simplifying and streamlining processes.
This innovation has enhanced the quality and efficiency of public service, setting a benchmark for other LGUs in the region.
Mayor Jane Yap expressed her gratitude and pride, stating, “This commendation is a testament to our city’s commitment to excellence in public service. Our eBOSS system is a reflection of our dedication to innovation and efficiency, ensuring that our business community receives the best possible service. We are honored to be recognized by ARTA and will continue to strive for improvements that benefit our residents and stakeholders.”
According to ARTA, an LGU is tagged fully compliant with eBOSS if it has an online system to receive electronic business applications through a Unified Application Form; can issue electronic tax bill, Fire Safety Inspection Certificate Fee, and Barangay Clearance Fee; is capable of issuing electronic versions of permits; and can accept other modes of payment aside from cash.
The commendation from ARTA underscores Tagbilaran City’s leadership in adopting digital solutions to improve governance and public service delivery, paving the way for more streamlined and effective local government operations.
