MANILA, Philippines — The Office of the Vice President held a gift-giving activity Friday for the indigent members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, intersex, asexual or any other gender terms (LGBTQIA+) community in celebration of Pride Month.
In a statement, the OVP said 1,000 gift packs were given to indigent individuals who identified themselves as LGBTQIA+ at the Amlac Covered Court in Barangay Payatas B, Quezon City.
The gift packs included grocery items and other goods donated by supporters of the LGBTQIA+ community.
The OVP said that similar gift-giving activities were simultaneously held in different areas of the country.
The OVP said the LGBTQIA+ beneficiaries came from various sectors such as women, fisherfolk and persons with disabilities, among others. (with reports from Elizabeth Marcelo – The Philippine Star)
