Calape launches kite flying ‘24 competition

THE Municipality of Calape is to soar high up when it launches the kite flying competition, one of its kind of fun and amusement as part of its annual fiesta.

It is calling all kite enthusiasts to actively join in kite flying competition in open field, barangay San Isidro on May 5, five days before the town fiesta on May 10.

The facebook post of Mayor Atty. Julius Caesar Herrera the town “will once again paint our skies with color and hue. Get ready to showcase your creativity and piloting skills as you fly your kites into the sky.”

For interested participants, kindly refer to the following guidelines: (1). This competition is OPEN TO ALL BOHOLANOS.; (2). Only one entry per contestant; (3). The kite must be at least 1 meter in size (length and width); (4). The kite must be original and have not been used in any previous kite competition. The Philippine flag or similar representation cannot be used; (5). Inexpensive and use of recycled materials are HIGHLY ENCOURAGED; (6). The kites shall be given a 5-minute launch period and a retry for failure to take-off; kites that fail to take-off the second time are disqualified; (7) a kite that has become entangled may be flown again with clearance from the organizers; and (8). The kite must be registered on or before April 20, 2024. 

Criteria for Judging; DESIGN (Originality and Creativity), 20%; Materials (Workmanship, Uniqueness, Quality), 20%; ON AIR JUDGING: Aerial Maneuver (Kite must stay on air at least 2 mins.), 30%; and Over-all Impact (Kite appearance while flying, audience impact), 30%.
