PUREGOLD Price Club, a chain of hypermarkets and supermarkets in the Philippines, is eyeing to expand or add more branches in Bohol, Tina Ibarientos, area manager, said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And upon the request of Gov. Aris Aumentado, the next branch after the Ubay, would be erected in Tubigon town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ibarrientos also hinted that the company (Puregold) is also eyeing to put up S&R branch in Panglao but she was short of giving the timeline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cS&R Membership Shopping is a warehouse club that retails premium quality imported products and services in the Philippines,\u201d according to its website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This came after the grounDbreaking ceremony of its planned building beside the gym of Ubay town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Tuesday, Jan. 9, the Lucio Co-led company held groundbreaking ceremony for its 545th store in Ubay town, the first Puregold branch in Bohol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHopefully this will be the start of many branches [in Bohol],\u201d said Tina Ibarrientos, area manager of Puregold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event was also attended by Bohol Gov. Aris Aumentado, Board Member Jamie Villamor, Ubay Mayor Costan Reyes, Vice Mayor Victor Bonghanoy and councilors and representatives of 4E Builders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Aumentado said the entry of Puregold, the signficant investment will further increase the province\u2019s economic potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe will now be able to further increase our economic potential and offer jobs for fellow Boholanos. We hope this is the begining of expansion to other parts of Bohol,\u201d said Aumentado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reyes said \u201cit\u2019s a game changer.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Villamor said the commercial establishment is a major milestone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe are confident that we will be moving towards a direction that Boholanos can be proud of,\u201d said Villamor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ubay, a fast growing first class municipality in Bohol, has a population of 81,799 people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following ground breaking rites on Tuesday, Puregold started its construction for its one storey building in 4,000 sq meters area near the town\u2019s gymnasium in Barangay Fatima.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Architect Vincent Flores said the construction will finish in six or nine months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As of June this year, the company has opened 16 new Puregold stores, 1 S&R Membership Shopping warehouse, and 1 S&R New York Style quick service restaurant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
