EDUCATION Secretary Sara Duterte vowed that her administration is to unburden the teachers from administrative tasks that somehow the teachers are unable to focus on instructional and classroom works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She bared that with the collaboration of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) and Civil Service Commission some 3,500 positions for administrative work have been created.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The move (creation of admin jobs) was prompted, she said, since teachers are complaining other tasks, such as deworming the kids, why teachers feed the school children, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Education secretary under President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. administration is also eyeing to improve the educational system by launching what she called the Matatag<\/em> curriculum in school year 2024-2025. The new curriculum is expected to focus on skills for lessons from kindergarten to grade 10, including the good manners and right conduct, language, mathematics, reading and Makabansa<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Duterte told the teachers to be always kind to the school kids since this may remind them when they grow up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She was here last week to lead the kick-off ceremony of the celebration of National Teacher\u2019s Month with other school officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The said activity was also graced by Bohol Gov. Erico Aristotle C. Aumentado, Vice-Gov. Dionisio Victor A. Balite, City Mayor Jane Censoria C. Cajes and other education officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hundred of teachers with their respective supervisors gathered to participate in the celebration held at the Bohol Wisdom School gymnasium in this capital city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his speech, Aumentado said the role of teachers in the society is important in molding the minds of youth to be responsible citizens in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThrough their unwavering dedication, our teachers are our reliable and strong pillars in strengthening the bedrock of our families, our communities, and our Filipino nation by imbibing an education that is MATATAG. We also recognize their positive influence and impact that goes far beyond the four walls of their classrooms,” the governor said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other guests at the National Teachers’ Month launch were provincial and city officials, DepEd division superintendents, supervisors, principals, and teachers from Regions 6, 7 and 8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Duterte was introduced by Senator Imee Marcos, who was with the vice-president, following the welcome message of Gov. Aumentado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The vice-president and the senator huddle with the municipal mayors with the governor and vice-governor in the afternoon held at the provincial Capitol after the DepEd program in the morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
