He gave emphasis on health, education, social provisions, environment, water and infrastructures that he sees essentials of his people in Ubay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This year\u2019s theme summed up it all: Pagpangga ug Pagmahal Inubanan sa Tiud-anay nga Pagpangalagad sa Lungsod: Maoy Bahandi Aron Makab-ot ang Tinuod nga Kalamboan.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Short of saying that health is wealth, Reyes said that his administration has put premium by providing Botika sa Bayan with free medicines, municipal laboratory and free monthly mental clinic check-up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Each of the 44 barangays has been provided with vehicle for emergency response, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also said that his dispensation has given birthday gift that benefited a total of 8,379 senior citizens at the cost of over P8 million plus and P200,000 each centenarian, aside from the cash award from the provincial and national government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The construction of P11.5 million worth of rural health unit in barangay Biabas and 2-storey health center in Lomangog worth P3.9million and P3 million for early childhood center and the completion of stimulation center P2.3million are also done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On education, his administration has earmarked P3,000 per semester for free to a total of 909 students for their schooling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With a well-managed solid waste sector, he said, the town was awarded 3rd place in the province-side search for best practices in solid waste management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He commended the municipal treasurer\u2019s office for tax collection even if this fund is still short to qualify for a cityhood. But in a separate interview, municipal treasurer Pabellan said that they\u2019re exerting effort to meet P100 million mark to make Ubay a city soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Congresswoman Vanessa C. Aumentado, the guest of honor of the celebration, said that she filed a bill to make Ubay a city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Infrastructure in the forms of hard projects are also important for the town\u2019s development, the mayor said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He made mention of the completed and on-going projects: Improvement of Ubay integrated bus terminal, P102 million; construction of two-storey building, P78 million; police and fire stations reconstruction @ P10 million apiece; training center, P5 million; legislative building, P15 million; completion of evacuation center, P36 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Construction of Tambakan diversion road, P150 million; renovation of the gym, P16 million; Public market in San Pascual, P15 million; renovation of municipal hall, P7million; landscaping of municipal ground, P5 million; and road concreting of several barangay roads.
