BOHOL Sanggniang Kabataan federation president Christian Victor Bolos stressed that the youth needs more young blood to steer leadership of the sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This he told media interview during the annual gathering of the SK held recently at Bohol Tropics Resort, this city, considering that the barangay and SK elections is slated on October 30 this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said there are many youth leaders under the umbrella of the SK who are graduating, meaning they cannot anymore run for reelection as their ages to qualify have already lapsed. An SK candidate must be 24, but must not below 18, before or on the day of the election, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The filing of the certificate of candidacy (COCs) for barangay and SK elections this year has been moved to August 28-September 3, 2023 from July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bolos said that perhaps he is lucky to have served the SK provincial federation for five years, during the incumbency of then Gov. Edgar Chatto, Gov. Arthur C. Yap and now, Gov. Aris Aumentado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Having authored\/sponsored 16 provincial ordinances and co-sponsors of numerous other measures of various concerns, but mostly on youth\/sports development, Bolos expressed joy for it\u2019s quite a feat before he retires in public service for he is not qualified anymore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said that the provincial congress, which has a lesser participants due to reduced budgets than the previous gatherings, tackled the importance of election rules given by the Commission on Elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bolos said that Bohol officials led by Gov. Aris Aumentado and Vice-Gov Victor Balite and SP members were invited and graced the youth congress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said that he supports the proposed legislative measure regulating the sound of music or discos during fiestas and other special events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He clarified that even the loud sound for dance and events are held only once a year, it does not augur well that it will be tolerated. There must be a balance that it won\u2019t disturb the residents around, but not also depriving the attendees of the enjoyment they deserve during the event.
