GOVERNOR Aris Aumentado urged every Boholano to register their subscriber\u2019s identity module (SIM) card pursuant to Republic Act 11934, or the SIM Registration Act. The registration began on December 27, 2022 up until April 26th of next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Aumentado said that the provincial government wants to help the national government in the SIM registration as part of its information dissemination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The national government aims at carrying out its mission to end mobile phishing, scams, and other online fraud by registering their subscriber identity modules (SIMs) to public telecommunication entities (PTEs) or telecommunication companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following the act’s approval, customers must present identification cards before purchasing sim cards from telecommunication companies. Public telecommunication entities (PTEs) or telecommunication companies such as Smart, Globe, and DITO already started registering their users, on Dec 27, in compliance with the act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In registering, customers must prepare personal details such as Full Name, Birthdate, Sex, Address, present Government IDs with photo and ID number, and a declaration paper that the information submitted is genuine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Companies registering must present an SEC Certificate of Registration or DTI Registration, A board resolution designating the authorized representative for the sim card, and a Special Power of Attorney.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Government IDs accepted in registering sims are: Passport Philippine Identification Card Social Security Service ID Government Service Insurance System e-Card Driver’s license Police Clearance Firearms’ License Profession Regulation Commission ID Integrated Bar of the Philippines ID Overseas Workers Welfare Administration ID Bureau of Internal Revenue ID Voter’s ID Senior Citizen’s ID Unified Multi-Purpose Identification Card Persons with Disabilities Card Other government-issued ID with photo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) gives users 180 days to register their sim cards, ending on April 26, 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
