Aris Aumentado (extreme right in black shirt) and other officials inspected and assessed the damage of the Alona beach in barangay\u00a0 Tawala, Panglao town\u00a0<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>THE public-private partnership has been mulled in a bid to restore the 800-m Alona white beach stretch in barangay Tawala that never sleeps in the premier tourist town of Panglao.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTabangan nato ni, Gov,\u201d Tourism Sec. Christina Garcia-Frasco said to Gov. Aris Aumentado after hearing from LGU Panglao officials led by Mayor Boy Arcay and the private sector led by Panglao Island Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) chair Uco Trotin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt could be a public-private partnership,\u201d Frasco said as she personally inspected the stretch of Alona beach to assess damage from erosion and need for sea wall protection which the public and private sector have brought to Aumentado in a meeting back in November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Frasco was also met by PENRO Ariel Rica and DPWH First District Engr. John Paul Gascon along with Provincial Administrator Aster Caberte and TIEZA ACOO Gregory Oller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The tourism chief had earlier said that National Government is bent on improved tourism experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Panglao Mayor Boy Arcay narrated that Frasco is hell bent to help Panglao in this quest for Alona rehabilitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The rehabilitation or constructing of additional seawall in Alona beach stretch was eyed contrary to news report that Aumentado will shut down the said famous shoreline located in barangay Tawala. Alona beach is named after movie actress Alona Alegre did the filming of a movie of then actor-director Fernando Poe, Jr. in the early 80s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to her site inspection of the nature-damaged Alona shoreline, Frasco led the groundbreaking of the Tourist Rest Area (TRA) in Dauis town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gov. Aumentado, his wife Congresswoman Vanessa C. Aumentado, Vice-Gov. Dionisio Victor Balite, Dauis Mayor Roman Bullen, Vice-Mayor Marietta Sumaylo and DOT officials assisted Frasco in the groundbeaking and capsule-laying for TRA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the site inspection, Frasco delivered a speech after the MOA signing for TRA at Dauis town gym, where Calape Mayor Atty. Julius Caesar F. Herrera, Loon Mayor Elvi Relampagos, Cortes Mayor Lyn Iven Lim, Corella Mayor manjo Liim, Tubigon councilor Gail Jao and other municipal officials were present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Frasco also visited Moadto resort in barangay Doljo, Panglao where she was met by resort manager Rommel Gonzales.
