{"id":4403,"date":"2022-11-28T06:59:02","date_gmt":"2022-11-28T06:59:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/theboholtimes.com\/?p=4403"},"modified":"2022-12-07T03:29:06","modified_gmt":"2022-12-07T03:29:06","slug":"bohol-coastal-resource-management-produces-2000-locally-produced-clams","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theboholtimes.com\/?p=4403","title":{"rendered":"Bohol coastal resource management <br>produces 2,000 locally-produced clams"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>THE Coastal Resource Management (CRM) Program of the Provincial Government has grew 2,000 locally-produced clams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bohol Provincial Environment Management Office (BPEMO) Division head Vil Inguito-Pelindingue reported on Friday\u2019s Capitol Reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of this, over a thousand remain after suffering from damages from Typhoon Odette at the Ubay hatchery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A number of these locally-produced juvenile clams have been deployed in Anda and restocked in Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) in Albur, Anda and Loon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The clams are dispersed in MPAs as studies have shown this help enhances reefs and help promote biodiversity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bohol currently has 182 MPAs with marine sanctuaries in all 30 coastal LGUs, one of the most number in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CRM is one of priority programs of the Provincial Government which focuses on the protection,&nbsp; conservation and sustainable management of coastal and marine resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BPEMO head Tata Ganub said they are working closely with coastal LGUs, relevant national line agencies and People\u2019s Organizations (POs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among top priorities include the strengthening of Danajon Bank Double Barrier Reef Management Council, reconstitution of the 8 Coastal Law Enforcement Councils (CLECs), and reactivation of MPA networks such as in the Duero-Guindulman-Jagna-Anda area.
