THE provincial government of Bohol has awarded nine (9) centenarians from the towns by giving them P100,000 apiece and plaques of appreciation pursuant to the Provincial ordinance, aside from benefits given by the national government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) thru PSWD Officer Carmelita Tecson informed the Provincial information and Media Office (PIMO) of the undertaking and the schedule of the awarding of the centenarians sometimes last week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The office visited the centenarians in their respective places to give the awards, Board Member Lucille Lagunay\u2019s office, that facilitate the awarding, said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The centenarianns are the following: Alejandria P. Ruba, 100, of barangay Cawayanan, Tubigon town; Maria C. Carbon, 100, of Ambuan, Catigbian; Patricia L. Baobao, 100, Purok 2 of barangay Tanday, Baclayon; Consorcio D. Castanares, 100, Purok 3 of barangay Tambongan, Candijay; Constancia C. Ayuban, 100, Purok 5A, Poblacion, Alicia; Pablo B. Ladores, 100, of Purok 3, barangay Mambool, Duero; and Timoteo S. Salise, 100, of Poblacion Oriental, Valencia, Bohol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those centenarians who recently passed away are identified as Rafaela C. Macalam (died September 1, 2022) of Purok 4, Canlangit, Sierra-Bullones; and Nicanor H. Amolato (died May 29, 2022) of Purok 1, Lungsodaan, Candijay, Bohol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To ensure the smooth provision of awards and incentives for Filipinos who reached the age of 100 and above as stipulated under Republic Act 10868 or the \u201cCentenarians Act of 2016\u201d, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has released the guidelines that will serve as reference for implementors, reports said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe guidelines are embodied in DSWD Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 04 series of 2017 which outlined the roles of the Department and other partner-agencies and organizations.  The MC also identified the documentary requirements that are needed to avail of the incentives.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThese incentives include the grant of P100,000 as a one-time Centenarian Gift, Letter of Felicitation signed by the President, and a Posthumous Plaque of Recognition for a centenarian who died upon the effectivity of the Act.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Filipino centenarians living overseas may also avail of the incentives upon verification with the Commission on Filipino Overseas (CFO), the report added. (rvo)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
