City Mayor Jane Yap emphasized during her speech during the launching of Project 6300 that tree-growing is essential in maintaining the sustainability of the environment. The activity was held in the City Hall Atrium on October 3, 2022.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

CITY General Services Officer (CGSO) Dr. Chris John Rener Torralba and Tagbilaran City Waterworks System (TCWS) employees witnessed the Memorandum of Agreement Signing Ceremony of Project 6300 between the City Government of Tagbilaran represented by Mayor Jane Yap and the Bohol Chronicle Radio Corporation through its President, Peter Dejaresco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mayor Yap in her message expressed optimism that Project 6300 – a tree growing activity, will elevate the Tagbilaran\u2019s status as a haven for families as she envisions the bamboo trees to be integrated into a recreational park alongside the Tagbilaran City Coliseum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the MOA signing, the CGSO and TCWS employees proceeded to the tree growing site in Dampas for the planting of bamboo seedlings provided by Bohol Chronicle Radio Corporation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Witnessing the MOA signing were Vice Mayor Atty. Adam Relson Jala, City Administrator Cathelyn Torremocha, CGSO Head and Project Manager Dr. Torralba, City Legal Officer Atty. Kathy Blanche Jamila and Officer-In-Charge City Planning and Development Office Engr. Estela Margate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Project 6300 was born because of Tagbilaran City\u2019s vision to become a green city. By instituting green initiatives, improving parks, creating pocket forests and conducting massive tree growing activities, the environmental resources in Tagbilaran City will be sustainable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mayor Jane Yap emphasized this initiative is crucial in sustaining the health of our environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGrowing trees is also our way of giving back to Mother Earth because forests and trees are the lungs of our planet, drawing in carbon dioxide and breathing out oxygen.  We will need more trees to help us combat the effects of global warming and climate change. This is just the first and the beginning of the many partnerships we will have with private entities, government agencies, academe, civil society and professional organizations for the implementation of Project 6300,\u201d Yap said.
