The Philippine Professional Standards for Supervisors (2019) provides\u00a0 a view of learning and development as centering on supervisors\u2019 abilities to develop themselves and others through sustained commitment. The view for L&D is further supported by professional networks, personal and professional development, professional reflection, and learning to improve practice and support for rewards and recognition. (PNU LisQuP, Module # 7: Differentiating Supervisors\u2019 Learning and Development Interventions in the New Normal).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Public Schools District Supervisors (PSDS) are tasked and mandated to oversee the performance of the schools under their supervision. They need to identify the different concerns, issues, gaps, and difficulties that need to be provided with interventions to meet the expected targets as planned and mandated, as specified in their key result areas.<\/p>\n\n\n

Learning and development (L&D) is a systematic process to enhance an employee\u2019s skills, knowledge, and competency, resulting in better performance in a work setting. Specifically, learning <\/em>is concerned with the acquisition of knowledge, skills, and attitudes. Development <\/em>is the broadening and deepening of knowledge in line with one\u2019s development goals (https:\/\/www.aihr.com\/blog\/ learning-and-development).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main reason why, PSDSs need to attend coaching and mentoring, training, and other capacity-building programs are to enhance their skills and competencies.
