AS of February 15, the total number of active COVID-19 cases in Tagbilaran City went down to 33. The Provincial Government of Bohol also announced that Bohol is now under Alert Level 2 until the end of the month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the lowering of cases and slackening of restrictions, the City Government is not taking any chances. The vaccination for 5-11 years old had its ceremonial inoculation on Monday, February 14, with Janah Yap receiving the first jab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to City Health Information Officer Robin Reyes Culpa, the City Health Office targets to vaccinate 11,000 to 13,000 kids in Tagbilaran. Culpa said the vaccine is specially formulated to the pediatric population. The vaccine called TOZINAMERAN was manufactured by Pfizer \u2013 BioNTech. The dosage to be administered to the children is only 0.2ml, lesser than the usual dose of 0.3ml.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

City Mayor John Geesnell \u201cBABA\u201d Yap encouraged the parents to bring their children to the vaccination center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAfter your pediatrician\u2019s assessment of your child\u2019s health status, we encourage the parents to bring their children to our designated vaccination center. We are optimistic that this specially formulated vaccine will protect our children from the threat of the COVID-19 virus,\u201d Mayor Yap said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Twenty-nine (29) kids were inoculated during the ceremonial launch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Official vaccination was lodged at the Tagbilaran City College from February 15 to 18. The following documents were presented prior to the vaccination: (1) Documentary proof of your relation to the child. Birth or baptismal certificate is accepted; (2) Valid ID with picture of both the child and the parent or guardian; (3) Medical certificate should be presented if the child has an underlying medical condition, and (4) Face mask and hand sanitizer. In the absence of the parents, the authorized guardian presented the following, Special Power of Attorney (SPA) or authorization letter from the parents which are duly notarized or affidavit from the parents informing consent (witnessed by a public official or notary public) and valid government ID or Barangay Certificate signed by the Punong Barangay.
