SOME 20 Japanese businesses whose establishments are located at Mactan Economic Processing Zone area (MEPZA) are eyeing Bohol for their new investments, Gov. Aris Aumentado quoted Japanese consul-general as saying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Aumentado recently met with the consul-general during the latter\u2019s visit to the province and made mention about this development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The governor told Governor\u2019s hour program that one of the reasons cited for the Japanese investors to transfer to Bohol is the costly yearly fees imposed by the economic zone authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Though this is still a yearning or a plan, Bohol welcomes them, Aumentado said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said he told the consul-general that he would like to develop the northwestern seaboard (2nd district) of the province. He would prefer the towns of Getafe or Buenavista and other towns nearby if ever there\u2019s an economic zone to be established in the province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said that when economic zones are established here, it would mean job opportunity to the citizens. The more jobs created the more income may be derived, the governor said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The governor recently bared that Robinsons is trying catch up with big malls as SM super mall is said to establish in the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He recently confirmed what Ubay Mayor Costan Reyes has said during the 175th foundation of the town that Robinsons are also eyeing to put up one of its firms in Ubay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reyes announced that Puregold is also looking for space so it could set up its own business in Ubay town. The governor confirmed this also.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
