The roster reached over 700 participants, including those vying in the Go for Gold Sunrise Sprint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Sunrise Sprint, the sub-category to the centerpiece Sun Life 5150, is set over 750m open-water swim, 20km bike ride and a 5km run, which drew beginners wanting to immerse themselves into the tri-sport and those staging a comeback in the ever-growing sport that combines cardio buildup, muscle mass increase and stamina boost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Held under an Olympic-style setup, the event kicks off with the open-water 1.5 km-swim at 6:30 a.m. on the island\u2019s white sand beach, going clockwise before heading back to the Bellevue Hotel beach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 40-km rolling bike leg, which unwraps at the Doljo beach, features two loops and three turnarounds at the Dauis-Panglao road, making its first turn at KM 11, then at KM<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>20 and back at KM 29 all the way to the finish line back at Doljo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The closing 10-KM flat run course, on the other hand, is a single loop challenge, also from the Doljo beach and back with run aids at KMs 1 and 9, 2 and 8, 3 and 7, 4 and 6, and KM 5 for the turnaround.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Sunrise Sprint, featuring 750m open-water swim, 20km bike ride and a 5km run, also promises to be a top draw with over a hundred participants from at least 23 triathlon teams clashing for top honors in different age categories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Carla Gonzales-Chong, Chief Client Experience and Marketing Officer of Sun Life Philippines, said in a press conference that the event aims to promote a healthy lifestyle and wellness among Filipinos in these tough times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOver the years, we have been committed to promote health and wellness. We have also mounted health and wellness events while continuously growing our GoWell community at gowell.com.ph and have expanded our suite of health protection plans.
